Groundbreaking Partnership Aims to Empower BIPOC Nonprofit Leaders Nationwide

In a groundbreaking collaboration, The Nonprofit Makeover and GiveSmart have joined hands to invest in communities of color and provide access to a robust learning tool to help break barriers in philanthropy. This powerful partnership aims to empower BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) nonprofit leaders in the nonprofit space, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to create lasting change in their communities.

Breaking Barriers and Fostering Inclusivity:

Nearly one in three executive leaders of color “often” or “always” felt they lacked opportunities for advancement, compared with fewer than one in five of their white counterparts. ² GiveSmart is partnering with The Nonprofit Makeover to provide learning opportunities to 10 BIPOC leaders.

By providing access to The Nonprofit Makeover University at no-cost, we have an incredible opportunity to bridge the gap in philanthropy and uplift the voices of those who have been marginalized. The Nonprofit Makeover University teaches nonprofit leaders how to expand their revenue streams, provides training and support for improving marketing and digital marketing, and provides tangible tips for donor acquisition strategies, content creation, volunteer recruitment, and more.

GiveSmart is providing 10 BIPOC nonprofit executive leaders scholarships to The Nonprofit Makeover University in 2023.

The Secret to Success for Nonprofits in the Digital Age

Collaboration is key in the world of nonprofits. The Nonprofit Makeover University is a comprehensive e-course designed to empower BIPOC nonprofit leaders. This unique program offers a wealth of knowledge, strategies, and expert guidance, covering various aspects of nonprofit capacity building, fundraising, and leveraging social media for online fundraising. By granting access to this invaluable resource, The Nonprofit Makeover and GiveSmart are equipping leaders with the tools they need to make a lasting impact in their communities.

The partnership between The Nonprofit Makeover and GiveSmart represents a significant milestone in empowering BIPOC nonprofit leaders and investing in communities of color. By providing access to The Nonprofit Makeover University, this collaboration is breaking down barriers, fostering inclusivity, and addressing the equity gap in philanthropy. This collaboration serves as an inspiration for the philanthropic community to come together and invest in the empowerment of marginalized communities.

GiveSmart Champion Grants

Over the past few years, most nonprofits have seen a significant increase in demand for services since the onset of the pandemic. That is more prevalent in those nonprofits led by BIPOC leaders, with over 64% of those organizations reporting a significant increase in demand.³

To meet that demand, nonprofits need a connected, modern fundraising platform. Three of the scholarship winners will receive free access to the GiveSmart fundraising and donor management suite for all of 2024, one Smart Session, and discounted pricing upon renewal.

Addressing the Equity Gap in Philanthropy:

The Nonprofit Makeover and GiveSmart are not only investing in individual leaders but also amplifying the impact of the communities they serve. By equipping BIPOC nonprofit leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge, the partnership enables them to create sustainable change, address systemic issues, and uplift their communities. This ripple effect of empowerment has the potential to transform countless lives and create a more just and equitable society.

BIPOC leaders bring unique perspectives, experiences, and expertise to the nonprofit landscape. By supporting BIPOC nonprofit leaders, we can unlock immense potential to tackle social challenges with fresh approaches, innovative ideas, and a deep understanding of the communities they serve. This endeavor is not just about empowering individuals; it is about creating a more equitable, compassionate, and inclusive nonprofit industry that reflects the rich diversity of the world we live in.
